my man's gone now, ain't no use in cryin.....

How do I begin to bemoan David Cryer not being renewed in Phantom?  By thinking back to the first Firmin I did in 1995.  I asked David to come to one of my run-throughs and give me some notes. He gave me several pages of them-but you wouldn't believe how encouraging they were.

When my brother passed away in 2005, I was told that some of his last words were the poem "Crossing the Bar"  by Tennyson.  David was my natural choice to read this at the funeral, but of course couldn't come.  He made a tape of it for me though-and it was wonderful.  Everyone was so moved by David's comments at the beginning of the tape and equally moved by the reading of the poem

Thank you David, for everything you've done for me and my family-and for being the consummate professional that I aspire to be someday.

Love you,

Steve.
